Why does a repeated claim eventually seem true?
Encountering a claim several times can increase its credibility, whether it is true or false. This experimental effect does not turn every repetition into persuasion: its magnitude depends on the knowledge brought to bear, the context and the corrections provided. In children as well as in schools, evidence exists but remains partial.
